Art Meets Science: The Detection of Fakes and Forgeries

Cranfield University, Lauréat de la Bourse Annette Giacometti , is proud to host its first public seminar event ‘Art Meets Science: The Detection of Fakes and Forgeries’. The seminar will feature international speakers from the world of forensic investigation and archaeological science who are actively involved in the study of art objects using the latest scientific techniques. The seminar features cases studies on the examination of a range of objects and periods, including European and Chinese porcelain, Roman ceramics, Neolithic stone statues, arms and armour and 20th-century Giacometti bronzes. This event is open to all, from those with an interest in the investigation and dating of art objects, to students and those working in the field of conservation, forensics and art history and archaeology.
